7-METER GIANT ANACONDA COMES FACE TO FACE WITH DIVER

Diver Bartolomeo Bove and his friend Juca Ygarapé were diving along the Rio Formoso, in Brazil, when they were surprised by a huge seven-meter Green Anaconda and came face to face with it. It is considered one of the largest snakes in the world.

This species of snake is one of the largest in the world and can reach an incredible 9.1 meters in length and weigh up to 250 kilograms.

They kill by wrapping themselves around prey, suffocating the victim with their strength and can open their mouths to be able to swallow prey larger than their bodies.

Scary, no? However, Bove and his friend were not intimidated and went to the giant snake to take the best photo.

Everything was recorded on video, where it is possible to see the snake from seven meters away from head to tail, lying on the riverbed.

The camera is placed very close to the animal, where it was possible to see it showing its tongue.

The two divers, instead of swimming away from the animal (which many of us would do), they followed the snake and were determined to get closer and closer.

And only then was it possible to register the best photograph of the giant anaconda.

After all that, Bove’s determination paid off and he managed to get some absolutely incredible footage of the creature.

In the video, the diver explains that, contrary to what many say, these huge snakes are not aggressive animals and most of the time they only attack if they feel threatened.

“The rivers and bodies of water around the Bonito area are the only places in South America where anacondas can be found in crystal clear water and so you can dive with them,” Bove said.
“As shown in the footage, the anaconda is not at all calm and peaceful, completely indifferent to our presence. Sometimes she approaches, curious about my camera, licking the lens. The anaconda’s behavior debunks the myth that it is an aggressive and violent creature that can endanger people’s lives,” she said.
