Fisherman shocked after landing alien-like fish
Oscar Lundahl, a 19-year-old Norwegian resident, caught an alien-like fish while fishing.
A student from Norway went fishing and was extremely shocked when he realized he had caught a “monster” with big eyes. It was with a lot of effort that the student managed to hold on to the fishing rod and not fall out of the boat. The fish turned out to belong to the species Chimaeras Monstrosa Linnaeus. According to experts, this fish is genetically similar to sharks, and the age of this species is about 300 million years. This fish lives more than a kilometer deep and rarely rises to the surface. The student managed to catch it at a depth of about 2,700 feet.
This species is called the European chimera. In winter it rises to the surface and can be found in the Atlantic and Barents Seas. This creature can reach 5 feet and experts consider this species endangered. Unfortunately, the fish died due to the pressure drop and the student stated that the fish was very tasty.
