Extraterrestrials could be robots with artificial intelligence (Video)

An interesting theory, analyzed by researchers around the world, indicates that if a group of aliens managed to get in touch with us, they could be robots with artificial intelligence.
Astronomer Steven Dick, a historian at the head of NASA between 2003 and 2009, explains it this way:
«If you have a civilization thousands or millions of years older than us, there will have been a great cultural evolution, and it is very likely that they are not like us, but artificial intelligences».
On the other hand, the theory indicates that extraterrestrials arriving on Earth could probably have exchanged their biological bodies for synthetic ones, much more prepared for long cosmic journeys.
Steven Dick, NASA’s chief historian and astrophysicist specializing in astrobiology and the post-biological universe, thinks that alien robots may exist outside of the B-series movies.
“The existence of a race of sentient alien robots on the ground may be possible, even inevitable.”
“Sometimes we may be living in a post-biological universe where intelligent extraterrestrials have switched their brains to artificial machines,” he says.
The triggering factor is the pragmatic desire to increase mental capacity.
Aliens could have reached a stage in their evolution where, once the potential of their biological brains had been exhausted, they took the next logical step and opted for robotic brains equipped with artificial intelligence.
This brain swapping couldn’t be as easy for humans as it is possible to imagine.
In just a few decades, the computer revolution on Earth produced supercomputers capable of performing more than a trillion calculations per second.
According to the investigations of Hans Moravec, a specialist in artificial intelligence at Carnegie Mellon University, this proportion exceeds the maximum speed of the human brain, calculated at 100 billion calculations per second.
Some scientists believe that within a few decades a phenomenon called a “technological singularity” will occur and machines equipped with computerized brains will become sensitive and surpass human intelligence.
Civilizations equipped with technologies located just a few years ago could have experienced this uniqueness for thousands and even millions of years.
What is the probability that such a race of robots exists?
“Given the limitations of biology as we know it, the push for cultural evolution, and the need to improve intelligence, I would say the odds are over 50/50.”
I say that, if there are post-biological beings, maybe they are not interested in us.”
“The chasm between their minds and our people may be so great as to prevent communication, or they may feel that we are too primitive to deserve their attention.”
If so, it could also happen that the entire universe is being ruled by alien artificial intelligence. Hard to imagine, but not exaggerated.
