Video shows a “mermaid” filmed in the Amazon! Will it be true?
Every day we receive several suggestions for topics, and invariably some attract our attention more than others. An example of this was a suggestion we received through our website about a video showing a strange creature!
The author of the suggestion indicated that the video was being shared in a certain group of the Telegram application ( file ), but there was no detail that would indicate its real origin.
There was only one very generic and conspiratorial caption:
“ Science tries to hide bizarre experiences, but nothing hidden will stay hidden for long ”

The Expressive Viral of Video
Before we give the verdict on this video, it is interesting to highlight the significant virality it has had over time. Just in a post on a Facebook page called “TV Maskate” — an alleged TV station from Manaus/AM — this video has already gotten more than 69,000 shares and 17 million views since June 3, 2020 ( file )!
Here is what was mentioned in an extremely alarmist way:
“ BELIEVE IF YOU WANT? BICHO MERMAID ATTACKS ON SOCIAL NETWORKS; THE LIVING BEING WAS FILMED SOMEWHERE IN THE AMAZON; IT’S ENOUGH TO BE SCARY THE SIMILARITY WITH HUMANS IN THE TRUNK. WATCH!!! ”
At the same time, the video was also disseminated on Instagram , and through an Amazon news site called “Portal Manaus 24h” . Both also did not provide further details about the video.
The video was amplified by the website “Portal Manaus 24h”, which did not provide any significant details about it.
However, this video was already circulating in other parts of the world before stopping here in Brazil!
Therefore, regardless of whether or not we were in front of a digitally manipulated video, there were indications that the recording might not have taken place in Brazil! And if you ask if anyone really believes in videos like this, the answer is very short and direct: Yes, a lot of people.
False! We believe that all those who accompany us know that, like fairies, mermaids don’t exist, right? No, guys? Don’t let us down!
That said, we are in front of an animation created by the channel “JJPD Producciones”, on YouTube. Simply put? This is computer graphics (CGI)! The strange creature or supposed mermaid featured in the video was digitally created by Nicaraguan brothers Jimmy Jose Perez and Jose Joaquin Perez, who are responsible for said channel.
